El Dorado

El Dorado is the most common name of ghost towns in the United States, the result of overzealous prospectors journeying out west. This is a guide to the El Dorado of the past and of myth. The compact map structure contains excerpts from vintage guidebooks, desert tall tales, trail marker and “hobo code” combined with prose and imagery.

El Dorado is an origami-fold structure.  Text and images letterpress printed with polymer plates over inkjet photographs of the Mojave desert and sky. Edition of 15.
